CEM, a prestigious national multidisciplinary association whose purpose is to promote scientific and technological activities related to Magnetism, highlights Ibarra’s long research career. The jury’s decision recognizes his important and outstanding career in Condensed Matter Physics, specifically in the field of massive magnetic materials and magnetic nanostructures with applications in spintronics and biomedicine.

Prof. M. Ricardo Ibarra’s research activity is developed in the fields of magnetism and magnetic properties of nanostructured materials. In recent years, his research activity has also focused on the application of nanotechnology in biomedicine. He has coordinated 32 national and international R&D infrastructure and research projects in the field of magnetism and nanotechnology and their applications, with an overall financial support of 20,000,000 euros. Former President of the Singular Scientific and Technical Facility ELECMI dedicated to the analysis of materials at the atomic level, he is now Honorary Director of the LMA, centre of management and coordination of ELECMI.

The award ceremony took place last November 18 in Cadiz, during the CEM Annual Meeting.

The Laboratorio de Microscopías Avanzadas (LMA) is a Singular Scientific-Technical Infrastructure (ICTS) of the University of Zaragoza linked to the Institute of Nanoscience and Materials of Aragon, INMA (CSIC – University of Zaragoza).

Laboratorio de Microscopías Avanzadas

We are a unique initiative at national and international level. We provide the scientific and industrial community with the most advanced infrastructures in electron microscopy and local probe microscopy for the observation, characterization, nanostructuring and manipulation of materials at the atomic and molecular scale.
